GOOD
TIMES - BAD TIMES
When things aren't going exactly how we'd like them and we're going through "bad times" we shouldn't ask "why me" but rather "what can I learn from this experience". From every experience we have - whether good or bad - there are lessons to learn, and that if we take a broader view of our experiences, we can learn and grow from what we consider adversity.
I asked G-d for strength that I may achieve,
But I was made weak that I may learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health that I may do greater things,
But I was given infirmity that I may do better things.
I asked for riches that I may be happy,
But I was given poverty that I might be wise.
I asked for power that I may have the praise of men,
But I was given weakness that I might feel the need of G-d.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life,
And I was given life that I may enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I'd hoped for,
And almost, despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among all men most richly blessed.
